Essential Equipment to add to your Gym Bag!

Hey guys!

First of all, if you don't have a bag that you use specifically for the gym--get one!! Before I had a one I would forget something every time I went. Having a gym bag makes it so much easier to just grab it and go, knowing that you'll have everything you need for any workout.

Here are a few things that I recommend to add to your gym bag!

1. Headphones: Wireless headphones have CHANGED MY LIFE! If you haven't switched over to wireless headphones--at least for working out-- DO IT!!! My first pair of wireless headphones were Beats. They were very expensive and they eventually broke after less than a year. I had them fixed for $100 and then they broke again. I definitely would NOT recommend them. There are much less expensive ones that work just as well and don't randomly stop working. I currently have the Skullcandy INK'd Wireless Headphones and I really like them! The battery also lasts way longer than the Beats. Another pair that is a little cheaper is the Skullcandy Jib Wireless Headphones

2. Resistance Bands: My favorite, most versatile piece of equipment! These bands can be used to warm up or to add extra resistance to your workout. I use at least one band in pretty much all of my workouts. (Let me know if you'd like me to write a blog post of some example exercises that I do with them.) I have gotten all of my bands off of Amazon. Here are some links to different types of bands and I'll tell you what they can be used for!

Flat Band- This one is great for stretching and warming up/cooling down.

Small Loop Band- These are ideal for activating your leg muscles. I use these for hip thrusts, fire hydrants, kickbacks, crab walks, etc...

Large Loop Band- These bands are great for assisted pull-ups, bodyweight squats, bicep curls, etc...

3. Gloves: If you're like me, then you don't want to get calluses on your hands! :) When I'm lifting weights or doing pull ups I like to wear gloves to protect my hands. I use these Harbinger Gloves

4. Jump Rope: This is such a quick way to get your heart rate up! It is also really easy to take with you anywhere. I like to use my jump rope as a warmup and/or during my workout.

I hope you think about adding some of the equipment I've mentioned to your gym bag :) All of these things have taken my workouts to the next level. I have accumulated all of this stuff over the past few years, so don't feel like you have to go out and buy all of this stuff all at once!! Also, this is not everything that I have in my gym bag so if you'd like me to do a 'Whats in my gym bag' or 'What I take to the gym' blog post then feel free to let me know!

Thanks for reading :)
