Hello all!
In today's post I thought I would tell you all of the supplements that I take on a daily basis. I personally think that all of these have benefitted me and can benefit you too!
Turmeric
This is a great anti-inflammatory. If you have any kind of arthritis or joint pain I would definitely try this out. Make sure you get one that has black pepper in it because it makes it easier for your body to absorb it.
Probiotic
I think that everyone should be taking a probiotic!! Your gut health affects your entire body and problems with it can often come out in external ways such as acne and bloating.
I have tried a few different probiotics and the one that I love is from Silver Fern. It is a -pre and -pro biotic. There is both good and bad bacteria in your gut. These probiotics help your good bacteria and lower the bad! A lot of probiotics on the market won't even survive long enough in your system to make it to your gut but these will.
Benefits of taking a probiotic: reduces bloating, helps digestion, balances good and bad bacteria in your gut.
Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha is an adaptogen. An adaptogen is a natural substance that can help the body adapt to stress. It also helps balance your hormones and I have really noticed a difference since I started taking this.
I have also tried this in powder form but I would definitely recommend getting it in pill form because I thought the powder tasted terrible!
Vitamin D
This is an important one! Vitamin D helps strength your bones (everyone could use that!) Your body produces vitamin D when it is exposed to sunlight but I think it's important to supplement it, especially if you are not sitting out in the sun all day every day.
Vitamin C
I take this to keep my immunity up. You always want your immune system to be in tip top shape so you don't get sick easily! It also helps neutralize free radicals in the body.
B12
I started taking this when I went vegan. Our bodies do not make B12 so we have to get it from either food or supplements. It is found in a lot of meat and dairy products which is why most non-vegans don't really worry about it. It's also found in nutritional yeast (which has a cheesy taste), so I get it from that but I don't eat it every day which is why I take the pill. B12 deficiency can result in always feeling tired, having no energy, and brain fog.
Magnesium
This helps with muscle soreness and recovery. Since I have been working out more I have been taking it on a daily basis. You can also take an epsom salt bath which is filled with magnesium but the pill is a lot less time consuming! Other things that help with muscle soreness are Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) and foam rolling/stretching!
I hope this gave you some information about the supplements that I take and gave you a little guidance on what you should take. One more tip is to get a pill organizer. It makes it so easy to put all your pills in one place and you only have to refill it once a week. The one I have is here and it is big enough for all of my supplements!
